(by Dave Donaldson)
After Gerry Fernandez and I went to PACE ministries in Kenya in 2010, I discovered God's calling to pursue a mission and a partnership with PACE. Working within Priory Park Baptist Church, I have developed a missionary effort to bring short-term missionaries to experience PACE and to write about that experience. Web site: //www.cdaviddonaldson.com/ Part of the mission I discovered is the opportunity to partner Canadian churches and Canadian pastors with the educational support of Kenyan pastors. For information about that project in particular see:
Pastor Support //pastors.paceministries.org/ MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Wishing you Peace, Joy, Love and Hope Diane and David Donaldson "Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them. He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David" Luke 1:67-69 God is moving in Kenya!I (David) received two reports from PACE’s seminary’s mission trips. The students went to Tanzania and Rwanda with plans for Burundi, but that nation is in a near-civil-war state. (The media in the west virtually ignores anything going on in Africa, but I digress…) These reports moved me to thank God that I have been a part of this work. They moved me to thank God that you have been partnering with us in the work in Kenya. Our conviction is the core work of missionaries, evangelism and education. Because of their involvement in PACE’s seminary, and our involvement, these seminary students were given a chance they’d not had; to go to another country and be missionaries. Here is an excerpt from the Tanzania mission: Saluting you all in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Pastor Wambugu was involved in house to house visitation from Thursday to Saturday and he was able to visit 37 families in which he prayed for the sick people and encouraged those were depressed by deferent challenges in their lives. One Muslim person converted to Christ during that visitation trip. And two persons were released from the bondage of darkness. Pastor Thananga and pastor Wambugu, were privileged to preach on Sunday morning services and the afternoon service. The church has three services. The first service starts at 6:00 am to 9:00am. The second one starts at 10:00am to 12:30pm. And the last service begins at 15:00pm to 17:30pm. They were ready to attend all of them. Here is one from the Burundi – Rwanda mission: The Burundi team could not cross over to Burundi due to political skirmishes. Therefore other arrangements were made to engage the team We, (Macharia, Betty and Martha) were sent to one pastor Baritazari of AIC-Kindogo, in the outskirts of Kigali town. He took us to Kabuga market where we met Pastor Gerard a refugee from AIC –Burundi. This pastor is a seeking refuge in Rwanda after war broke out in his country. He reported that the church in Bujumbura town has scattered. Pastor Gerard is struggling in Kigali trying to take his children to school. Well-wishers are feeding and housing this family. Pastor Baritazari is a father of Yasoni who goes to school at PACE. Yasoni is now going to [grade] 5 and is the light of the family. He really assisted us in interpretation since he speaks five languages: English, Kiswahili, Kinyarwanda, Kikuyu and some French. It was an experience for Betty and Martha, [students from the Nairobi centre] this being their first time in Rwanda. They promised to do another mission trip whenever the next opportunity arises. I was privileged to lead the team. Bishop Evanson Macharia. THANKS TO YOU! Thanks to all who have donated various items for the library and our Kenya home. God bless you for your generousity!
